Meet Amanda
Hi, I’m Amanda. I was born and raised in New Orleans, the oldest child (and an only child for my first ten years!). That early role of being “the first” shaped a lot of who I am today. I learned responsibility quickly, but also the importance of carving out my own path.
Before becoming a therapist, I earned my bachelor’s in business administration with a minor in management from the University of New Orleans in 2007 and spent several years in food sales and management. After having kids, I realized I wanted to do something more connected to my heart. So I went back to school to pursue my lifelong dream of becoming a counselor, and in 2021 I graduated from the University of Holy Cross with my Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling.
Addiction has personally touched my life in many ways, including my work and my own recovery journey. I know what it feels like to struggle, and I also know the hope and freedom that comes with healing. That’s why helping individuals and families navigate addiction and life’s challenges means so much to me; It’s not just a career, it’s personal.
I completed my internship at Avenues Recovery Center, where I was later hired full-time. I continue to facilitate groups and see individuals through the 24th Jefferson Parish Specialty Treatment Court. In addition to that, I founded Guided Path Healing because I believe everyone deserves a safe space to explore their emotions, grow, and move toward the life they want.
Whether you’re facing stress, relationship struggles, setting boundaries, life transitions, or you’re just ready for deeper self-discovery, I’ll meet you with compassion, honesty, and understanding.
Outside of my work, I’m a mom (to twin boys!) and two rescue dogs. I am a New Orleanian at heart, and someone who values laughter, resilience, and real connection.

Meeting You Where You Are
When I say I meet my clients where they are, I really mean it. You don’t need to have the perfect words, or a big plan for what you want to work on. You can show up messy, uncertain, hopeful, hurting, or all of the above and that’s okay.
I believe therapy should feel like a space where you can just be, without judgment. My job is to listen, to see you for who you are right now, and to help you sort through whatever’s on your plate.
We’ll take it one step at a time, together. Some days that might mean digging into hard stuff, and other days it might mean just having a safe place to breathe. My hope is that little by little, you start to feel stronger, more understood, and more like yourself again.
Everyone’s journey looks different, and I respect that completely. I’m not here to tell you who to be. I’m here to walk with you as you figure out what healing and growth look like for you.
I am trained in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)
I’m trained in DBT, but I don’t stick to the strict manual. I like to use the parts that really work for people. What I love about DBT is how it focuses on balance: learning to accept where you are right now, while also leaving room for growth and change.
In our sessions, that might look like practicing mindfulness, figuring out how to handle tough emotions without getting swept away, building up your resilience, or working through relationships in a healthier way.
I keep things flexible and collaborative, we’ll find what works best for you. I use a mix of validation, curiosity, and down-to-earth strategies that actually fit your life. My goal is simple: to help you feel supported as you learn new ways to cope, grow, and move toward the kind of life you want for yourself.
I currently take Blue Cross and Blue Shield and United Health Care commercial insurance.
